Gradual release process of pro-freedom leaders begins | KNO

While the situation in the Valley is restoring towards normalcy after an intense unrest of over five months, the government is all set to release all the political prisoners in a gradual process. Sources told KNS that the government after examining the overall situation has decided to start release process of Hurriyat and other pro-freedom leaders and other political prisoners who have been lodged in different police stations and jails across the state.

While the situation in the Valley is restoring towards normalcy after an intense unrest of over five months, the government is all set to release all the political prisoners in a gradual process.

Sources told KNS that the government after examining the overall situation has decided to start release process of Hurriyat and other pro-freedom leaders and other political prisoners who have been lodged in different police stations and jails across the state.
In a related move the authorities have released Hurriyat leader Ghulam Muhammad Hubi last week who was slapped with PSA, Hurriyat (M) media advisor Shahid-ul-Islam who was under house arrest from the past 150 days.
Similarly, in the other move, the authorities also released JKLF vice chairman Bashir Ahmed Bhat, who was lodged at Rajbagh police station.
Informed sources revealed to KNS that as the situation improves further the authorities are likely to release other prominent leaders including Shabir Ahmed Shah, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Mohd Rafiq Ganaie of Muslim League, Showkat Bakshi of JKLF and other political detainees. The release of Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar who has been lodged at Kot-Balwal Jammu may also be release in the days to come, sources added. (KNS)
